THE POWER OF SUPERNATURAL ENCOUNTER!

TEXT: Gen 12:1-3, Gen 15:1- , 2Sam 7:4.

What do we mean by An Encounter With the word of God?

An encounter with the word of God is an encounter with the voice of God.

Deut.28.1 - And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth...

Revelation 1:9

" I am John, your brother and partner in the oppression, kingdom, and patience that comes because of Jesus. I was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony about Jesus.

10 I came to be in the Spirit on the Day of the Lord, when I heard a loud voice behind me like a trumpet,

11 saying, “Write on a scroll what you see, and send it to the seven churches: Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.”

12 Then I turned to see who was talking to me, and when I turned I saw seven gold lamp stands.

13 Among the lamp stands there was someone like the Son of Man. He was wearing a long robe with a gold sash around his chest.

14 His head and his hair were white like wool, in fact, as white as snow. His eyes were like flames of fire,

15 his feet were like glowing bronze refined in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of raging waters.

16 In his right hand he held seven stars, and out of his mouth came a sharp, two-edged sword. His face was like the sun when it shines with full force.

17 When I saw him, I fell down at his feet like a dead man. But he placed his right hand on me and said, “Stop being afraid! I am the first and the last,

18 the living one. I was dead—but look!—I am alive forever and ever! I have the keys of Death and Hades. Psalm 29:

2 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD wearing holy attire.

3 The voice of the LORD was heard above the waters; the God of glory thundered; the LORD was heard over many waters.

 4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is majestic.

 5 The voice of the LORD snaps the cedars; the LORD snaps the cedars of Lebanon.

 6 He makes them stagger like a calf, even Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild ox.

 7 The voice of the LORD shoots out flashes of fire.

8 The voice of the LORD shakes the wilderness; the voice of the LORD shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.

9 The voice of the LORD causes deer to give birth, and strips the forest bare. In his Temple all of them shout, “Glory!”

The voice of God is the spoken word of God.

There is nothing that can resist the voice of God.

#2: An encounter with the word of God is an encounter with the Spirit of God.

 John.6.63 - It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

 (John 6:63.).

*The spirit of God is the creative power of God.

John.1.1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John.1.3 - All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Apostle Peter called this creative force "His Divine Power"

1Pet.1.3 - Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,.

#3: An encounter with the word is an encounter with the mystery or secret of God.

Ex 29:29

Deut.29.29 - The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

A mystery is a hidden purpose of God.

*A mystery is a hidden wisdom of God which govern God in dealing with the righteous which are hidden from the ungodly. The word of God is the wisdom of God in dealing.

NOTE THREE (3) THINGS ABOUT THE WORD OF GOD.

* You don't need to be educated to hear the voice of God. All you need is to born again.

John.10.29 - My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

John.10.27 - My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

* God decides when to Speak to You.

You cannot decide when God should speak to You, But you can position your self in the place where if He should speak to you ,you can him.

Exod.24.15 - And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount.

Exod.24.16 - And the glory of the LORD abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud.

*God sometimes Speak to us Individually.

WHEN DECIDES TO SPEAK TO PERSON HE SPEAKS FOR THREE MAJORS REASONS

1#: HE SPEAK TO INSTRUCT HIM. (Gen 12: 1-).

Deut.32.16 - They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger.

Deut.32.9 - For the LORD'S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.

Deut.32.10 - He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.
